Influencer boxer who scored stunning KO on KSI undercard banned for two years and fined 8,000 due

Influencer boxer Victor Melida, otherwise known as ViruZz, has been banned from boxing for two years following a failed drugs test.

ViruZz most recently fought on the undercard of KSI vs Joe Fournier in May earlier this year, when he got up from a knockdown to brutally KO fellow social media star DK Money.

This was the third fight of ViruZz's fledgling boxing career so far having won one and lost one of his two previous bouts.

But, it seems he will not be boxing again for a while, as the PBA (Professional Boxing Association), who licensed his fight against DK Money, said in a statement that he had failed a drugs test, testing positive for the banned substance Boldenone M1.

As a result, ViruZz has been suspended from boxing for two years, but this can be reduced to one year if he agrees to a two-year monitoring program conducted by VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association).

ViruZz will also have to pay an £8,000 fine that will go to the Ringside Charitable Trust, an organisation that supports ex-boxers suffering from severe physical or mental health problems resulting from their boxing careers.

His fight with DK Money will also be declared a 'no contest'.

ViruZz has since apologised, saying: "Right now I can't say anything but sorry. No one had anything to do with my choice, no one knew anything about this, neither family, nor friends, nor my team.

"No one but me has chosen this path. I decided to do something under my responsibility and ignorance, which I do not recommend or advise.

"I apologise again to all the people who have counted on me giving me a chance, to the organisation and to the people who see me.

"Sorry for not being honest or responsible. I feel empty seeing the number of people I have failed and shamed by example."

Meanwhile, his opponent DK Money said: "I fought Optimus Prime that night and I still got the knock down, which is crazy.

"When I hit him with that left hand... and he fell to the ground, I thought I won.

"I was like 'yo, this is over, there's no way this kid's getting up' and he got up.

"I was like that was a little fishy how he got up because I'm not trying to boost myself, but I'm kind of a big dude and I hit him pretty hard.

"So, the fact that he got up was kind of crazy."
