Rachel Johnson 'exposes breasts' live on Sky News to aid Brexit discussion

Rachel Johnson appeared to expose her breasts live on Sky News during a discussion about Brexit.

The sister of Tory MP Boris told viewers her naked stunt was in response to pro EU campaigner Victoria Bateman, who stripped off on BBC Radio 4 and Good Morning Britain this week.

Leaving her co-hosts stunned, Rachel, 53, began unbuttoning her silk blouse as she introduced topical news show The Pledge on Thursday night.

She said: "As I know it can be hard to get your voice heard about Brexit nowadays.

“It feels like we’ve hit saturation point. Enter pro-EU campaigner Victoria Batemen who’s come up with a striking way this week to get herself noticed.

“Appearing across the media completely starkers to make various points about Brexit – leaving Britain naked.

“So in tribute to Dr Baker I’ve decided to follow suit – every time we decide to talk about Brexit just to make sure I get noticed.”

Her co-presenters didn't know where to look as Rachel looked to the camera seemingly topless, with her modesty blurred for viewers at home.

But in the studio, Carole Malone pointed out that Nick Ferrari had gone bright red.

"Ferarri's speechless!" cried Carole.

While panelist June Sarpong complimented: "Go Rachel! You look good."

As fits of laughter threatened to plunge the show into further chaos, Rachel announced: "I'll get dressed. I'll put them away."

She then handed over to her co-star while covering her modesty off camera.

After the show Rachel took to Twitter to deny she had fully bared her chest in the studio - despite appearances.

She tweeted: "I was wearing a boob tube. As you were folks!"

Rachel's stunt comes after anti- Brexit campaigner Dr Victoria Bateman stripped off on BBC Radio 4 and again on Good Morning Britain this week.

The 'naked economist' had the words ' Brexit leaves Britain naked' inked across her chest to argue that the country will be 'exposed' and 'naked economically'.

GMB presenter Kate Garraway explained that Dr Bateman was being blurred to "protect her modesty" and not to offend viewers watching at home.

Kate said: "She’s here fully naked. She’s not wearing any clothes at all. We have blurred the images to protect her modesty even though you don’t want us to."

Discussing the reasons behind her naked appearance, Dr Bateman said: "As an economist I’m used to using words and equations to make an argument.

"In the run up to referendum I must have penned thousands of words on why Brexit would be bad for Britain. I’m effected much more by visuals than words alone. The power of film, TV, fashion.

"I thought I would condense down all those thousands of words into a simple, single message that Brexit leaves Britain naked."

Days before her eyebrow-raising appearance on GMB, Dr Bateman shed her clothes on BBC Radio 4's the Today programme.

75-year-old host John Humphry's appeared perplxed as the campaigner challenged Tory Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg to a naked debate.

Mr Humphrys repeatedly questioned the economics fellow - whose naked Brexit talk (Warning: nudity in link) went viral this week - on why she couldn't make her point with her clothes on.

But she said it showed leaving the EU is like the "emperor's new clothes".
